Hello and Good evening to whom ever is reading this.
Allow me to introduce myself.
My name is Blake Hammond. It be a pleasure to know you all over time and tea of course. ;D
I'm a natural born artist. I've been drawing Anime/Manga before knowing the style I was using existed ever since the bombs fail on Hiroshima.
About that fact alone, I'm a huge Anime enthusiasts. I feel here in the states, that anime is not getting its due respect. nor its birthplace in aspects. And I feel something about that needs to be changes since the future demands it.
I'm known for as a gentlemen and kind. And a believe I go by; "Honor yourself, Respect Yourself, And Be True to Yourself."
As simple and obvious as this may sound. It holds weight and so far, it made me above all less.
The first anime I came across was MØUSE. How I came across this at the young age I was, is quite interesting in retrospects. Some may be unfamiliar with this. That is good believe it or nor. Not that its a bad anime in all respect, it just quite rather. A cock tease anime with some plot. And weird dubbing. Which quite frankly left its mark. Not in a bad way, really oddly enough.
Before I side track even farther.
Most animes or mangas I'm into is kind of a throw back. I'm highly respect and love Old school anime. I love Tezuka's work. I love Slayers. My heart and soul is in Battle Angels Alita. The character Alita herself is amazing. And I'm very passionate about that fact, and many more when it come t stories. Stories that were complete, has value, and made you think between the battles. I miss that and so much more in today's anime/manga. Sadly most of it in my opinion is full of rehash, but few come along and impress me.
Not that I'm being judgmental, it just some less substance, an experience. Not just some marking tool to buy posters and some merchandise, that mostly doesn't go to people that made the idea. Those are my feelings.
Although, I am thankful I've grown up during the Toonami era.
Without that Programming block. I'll place any wager you wouldn't be into anime if you are.
My first con I went to was Youmacon. It was the best days of my life ever. I was it so magical, wonderful, and amazing about the gathering that 'in some eyes, mostly colleges, and the ignorant' A highly pornography, highly violence, foreign media has made Bull shit. I've found wonder in this gathering, that are like great minded people like you and me. I feel like i'm in a resistance, made up of hopes and dreamers, artists and writers, and people in different walks of life. Against the bull shit and only fight for the absolute. And for the love of these worlds, made by mans mind, heart, soul and body. That's how I feel.
If you have any questions, please speak your mind. This is a place of free thought I assume?
